Central Kids Ministries (ages 0-12)
Central Kids Ministries is an exciting thing to be a part of! Check out this video to hear about why we love to serve kids and their families, and read below to learn what you need to know about our Sunday morning gatherings.
Central is a church that is full of life. We have many young families and lots of kids, so our kids ministry is a busy and exciting place. It provides an opportunity for children to take steps in their own faith journey - learning Biblical truth, being prayed for, and realizing the blessing that is found in Christian community.
Check-in. All kids age 0 through grade 6, as well as all volunteers, get checked in at the computers in the front hallway. They get a nametag and parents get a security tag to show when they pick up their children.
Nursery. Our nursery is divided into a "not-walking" and a "walking" room. Both are full-service. Wonderful volunteers will make your child feel safe and loved, and they strive to pray for each child individually during this time.
Toddlers. Full-service programming is offered in this 2 year-old class. Leaders create a fun and engaging atmosphere as they play with toys, do a Bible story, sing some songs, and have a little snack.
Preschool and Kindergarten. 3, 4, and 5 year-olds are divided into two groups: Preschool 1 (full-service) and Preschool 2 (dismissed for their class partway through the worship service). These classes are fast-paced to keep up with these fast-paced little ones. They hear an interactive Bible story, do games and crafts to help them remember the main teaching, and enjoy a snack. Even at this age, we are introducing them to worship, prayer, and listening to God's voice.
Elementary. Our Elementary program is for kids in grades 1-4. They're dismissed partway through the service and they begin with a large group teaching time. After this, they break into small groups (grades 1-2 and grades 3-4) to talk about what they've learned, participate in various activities to help them better understand what was taught, and spend some time doing prayer journals and listening to God.
Upper Elementary. Grades 5-6 are dismissed partway through the service, as well. They join the elementary large group time for worship and a Bible lesson, and then have an intentional small group time focused on going deeper in their own faith journeys, listening to God, and serving. We also build relationships and community throughout the year with some special events specific for this age group.
Volunteers. Our volunteers are Plan-to-Protect screened and have a desire to see God work in the lives of our kids. Parents of children who regularly participate in our Kids Ministries are encouraged to volunteer as part of our once-per-month rotation.
Registration. If you and your child are ready to call Central your church home, we encourage you to fill out a Family Registration Form. The information collected is kept confidential and is used to help us keep track of the children we are serving.
