Discussion
What stands out to you from this passage? How does this passage most challenge or encourage you?
In verse 45 how does John describe the Galileans? How does this connect to the reference in the previous verse regarding what Jesus had already pointed out about them?
Describe the royal official’s emotional journey in this passage, especially comparing verses 47, 50 and 53.
Rather than seeking Jesus, the crowds during Jesus’ ministry often sought out His miraculous signs and wonders. Considering our culture today, how are we similar? What are the crowds of our day hungry for? Where does the world direct their attention, rather than looking to Jesus?
What is your faith in Jesus based on? Why do you choose to follow Him?
What miracle are you waiting for? What is Jesus saying to you in that place of waiting right now? Where is Jesus asking you to have faith and start walking?
In what areas in your life do you find it hard to take Jesus at His word?
